GENERAL GUITAR CLEANING
Before tackling this course, you should be comfortable with all the material from Different Finishes

Let's now get down to the actual task of cleaning some guitars! We start in this demonstration with a cool poly finished white Fender Stratocaster. James and Chris take you through the dos and don'ts of cleaning this style of finish.

Summary: Cleaning poly finishes

With a poly finish, as they are so thick, you don't need to worry too much about how much you clean it. It really is as simple as using some blue towel (Scotts shop towel) and some pump polish. Spray the polish on the towel and away you go! You can wipe around the whole body, scratch plate and headstock to bring it up to a nice shine. You can go over it a few times until you are happy with the clean, and then you are done! Nice and simple.

Nitro Finish Cleaning

We will now look at cleaning a nitro finished guitar. The fact that it is a more subtle and light finish, means that you have to be equally more subtle in your cleaning of it.
